How to Pray

Why do miracles happen only to a few and not to the rest?

There are three reasons.

1) We do not know how to pray

2) We do not have a communion with the divine and hence are not open to the possibility.

3) We do not have love in our relationships.

Prayer

We have been taught since our childhood, that it is enough if we are good and helpful to our fellow human beings. Is it really sufficient? If it is, then why do we have so many problems in spite of being kind to our fellow human beings? We feel cheated by God, Life or Destiny. Is there something we could do get out of this rut?

The answer is to be found in the words of Sri Amma, 'When you cannot help yourself and you seek my help I would help you'. How do we solicit this help? The answer is Prayer. Prayer is essentially a conversation you have with God in order to receive Grace. Prayer is an art that could be learnt.

Is Prayer scientific?
Prayer scientists observe that prayer generates a nerve protein or a neuropeptide called Serotonin which leads to immediate Peace and Tranquility.

Sri Bhagavan says Grace is possible only when you let go. Prayer is the easiest way to let go since it affects the right frontal lobe where it modulates certain neuro transmitters, which help you let go of your ego.

How to Pray?
Emotional Bond:
You should relate to God as a friend, mother, father, sister or any other way that comes naturally to you.

Clarity:
The desire for which you are praying should be clearly communicated to Amma Bhagavan. Do not pray for more than one blessing at a time. Sri Amma Bhagavan say, 'If you are not clear about what you want, it becomes difficult for you to receive grace from us'.

Speak to Amma and Bhagavan internally. Prayer is speaking to God. Hold the Shrimurthy in your hand and tell Sri Amma Bhagavan whatever is weighing heavy on your heart, the way you would tell your parents and friends. Having a bond while speaking is very important.

It is taught at the Anugraha deeksha class that visualize that your prayer request is already fulfilled when praying. For example, if you are praying to drive a car, visualise you are driving the car with a feeling for it. If you want healing of a particular illness, visualise you are healthy, walking, running and enjoying every moment of your life with good health.

Any prayer done in the presence of the living Avatars Sri Amma Bhagavan is infinitely more powerful than a prayer done otherwise. That is why, people from world over rush to their presence and experience unbelievable miracles and transformation.

Here is a living example of someone who was blessed by the divine grace of Sri Bhagavan.

She was handicapped from birth and hence could not walk properly. In the dharshan she said, 'Bhagavan, I have many dreams, which I am not sure would be ever be fulfilled. I want to drive a car on my own, want to work in a multinational in a respectable position, and want to be married to a very good person who would love me. Am I wrong in dreaming like this'. Placing His hand on her head Sri Bhagavan said, 'Have faith in Me and I shall fulfill all your dreams before you see Me next time'.

Six months later she was with the Lord. She had got into a multinational in th Middle East; she drove a specially designed sports car to her office every day, one of her colleagues a very handsome and understanding person had now proposed her to marry her.

Amma and Bhagavan have turned the dreams of millions into realities.

Gratitude:

Gratitude is the most important part of prayer. After praying, express your gratitude to Shri Amma Bhagavan for having listened to your prayer. When your prayer is answered, share the grace you received with others and come for Dharshan of Shri Amma Bhagavan with Bhakthi. Grace when recognised multiplies in one's life.

Please remember that your prayers must always be for your own good and for the good of the world.

Easy Steps:

1. Deeply inhale and exhale for some time, at least 5 minutes to calm your mind. You may wish to listen to some tranquil music or a bhajan while doing this.

2. Invoke the Divine presence in you by chanting Mula mantra three times or Seven times.

Aum Sat-Chit-Ananda Prabrahma

Purushothama Paramathma

Sri Bagavathi Sametha

Shree Bhagavathae Namaha

3. Internally seek blessings of your Parents.

4. Express your gratitude for all you received in your life.

5. With a strong bond with your divine as a mother, father or Guru, speak to your Divine about your prayer request and visualise it is already being fulfilled with an emotion. Be clear about what you want and pray for one desire at a time.

6. Express your gratitude to your Divine.

The Deeksha / Oneness Blessing takes youn into a state of prayer.

Sri Amma Bhagavan's Message:

Prayer is a conversation with God. All prayers, when done in a spirit of helplessness are most certainly answered. Prayers done with emotion reach us. Simply the word 'god' would mean nothing. The Divine must be your father, mother, sister, brother, friend or any other relationship that comes naturally to you.
